Grade 5 testing! [And i'm not one of them!!!]

May 15, 2008 · No Comments

That’s right, over the past 4 days the grade 5’s have been doing testing called Naplan, which is a Australia wide test to see how the student is comparing to a similar leveled student in Oz. It’s been a real shame because the Grade 6’s [me] have been doing other stuff while the grade 5’s slack it out.  Don’t worry gr 5’s, we now how it feels like, we did it last year. But, they did really well and finished all testing today. All subjects are listed below:

  • Writing
  • Reading
  • Maths

But all of them were repeated a couple of times. Well done grade 5’s!

April 18, 2008 · No Comments

Today marked the end of a era, the day that Mr P, our student teacher leaves SK. :( Today is very, very sad. [Sorry, starting to tear up......] Nah, it is sad but where not at a funeral! Anyway, yes today marks the end of Mr P, our student teacher leaving SK. He has been here for 2 weeks and has been very handy round the SLU [pronounce, "sl-oo"] and has added a bit of, what’s the word, variety to our class. But, never fear, because he will be back here!!!! [Hey, that rhymes!] In August Mr P will be back. So, to Mr P, we say thankyou and we will see you in the near future!!!! :) :D :P ;)   8) :o :!:  8O

New DKU Topic!!!

April 7, 2008 · 2 Comments

This term we have a new DKU topic! It is, “Turning Points In Australian History”. Like with our Reading & Writing workshops we have options to choose about turning points. Some of the options were: Arrival Of The First Fleet [1788], First AFL [Australian Football League] Match [1896], Myall Creek Massacre [1838], Eureka Stockade [1854] & Women Get The Right To Vote At Elections [don't know! ] to name a few. We got to choose our top 6 and we find out tomorrow what we got.

Again. like last terms topic “I’m OK, Your OK” we have a criteria sheet. And, we have to cover all these different, tasks to “complete” the task. Some are, “Draw A Map Of The Path Of The First Fleet” and, “Write all The Countries In WW1″. With our topics that we get, we only focus on them on two criteria subjects. One you get to Write A Newspaper Article article and the other I forgot what it is. [ ] There are also some more sheets for our topic that is a bit to hard to explain [like everything Mr K-T says  ] and because I only learnt it today. Lots of rsearch will have to be done but i’m really looking forward to this term with our new topic! :) :D :P ;)   8) :o :!:  8O

Us [not SK] Researching

Lots of research will have to be done for our new topic.
